Ohio Science Academic Content Standards

On Monday, June 7, 2010, the State Board of Education adopted Phase I of the revised science standards with a vote of 17 to 1.
The Science Team is already engaged in developing the Elaboration for Instruction and Learning Expectations components of the Model Curriculum and arranging for review committees of educators and practitioners to be sure we adequately integrate 21st century skills and contemporary science and provide links between the natural world of science and the human-made world of engineering and technology. We are also recruiting teachers to participate in regional meetings to assist with populating the section of the Model Curriculum.

If you know of teachers who may be interested in contributing to the Instructional Strategies and Resources pieces, please encourage them to check out the dates in the State Support Team Regions (http://www.ode.state.oh.us/GD/Templates/Pages/ODE/ODEDetail.aspx?page=3&TopicRelationID=1696&ContentID=86054&Content=86111) and sign up to participate through STARS.
