Wordle

Have you ever heard of wordle? You can check it out at http://www.wordle.net
You can copy and paste a group of words into the wordle creator, click on create and watch the magic. You then have the opportunity to step through a variety of random arrangements and styles by clicking on randomize. So you have to be thinking -- nice, but what does this have to do what does this have to do with education?

Go to this link: http://web20classroom.blogspot.com/2009/10/why-wordle.html
If you scan down the page you'll see a slide show with 46 ways to use wordle in the classroom. We have found so many uses for this little tool in all subject areas. The larger the text, the more frequently the word appears within the group of words pasted into the tool.

Here is a wordle created from a statement on the ODE website re: Math and Science for the 21st Century.
